Concrete/Asphalt Blade - 300DPA/C

The new blades from DTAS are leading the way in Dual Application technology! The blades are designed for use on all concrete materials including reinforced concrete as well as Asphalt and abrasive materials. Fast cutting in concrete applications and good life times in asphalt.

Testing has been taking place at DTAS with various new types of synthetic diamond grit from DeBeers. The new grits are especially designed with a high impact resistance but also with free cutting properties, to try and solve the age old problem of developing one diamond cutting blade, for use on both concrete and asphalt applications. The problems have always been that blades of this nature either cut quickly but also wear out quickly, when used in asphalt or alternately, last a reasonable time in asphalt but are too hard for continued use in concrete. As a result, users generally continue to use 2 specifications, 1 for each application. That is now a thing of the past with, the new 300DPA/C. Blades for concrete are generally designed with cobalt bond systems, narrow gullets, tall segments and no undercutting protection, as it's not required, whereas asphalt blades are made with high tungsten and carbide containing bond systems, use wide gullets, have undercutting protection and relatively low segment heights. So the conflict in design is clear. The new approach taken by DTAS has been to compromise the blades design by keeping narrow gullets, adding in undercutting protection and then creating a totally new bond system which has free cutting properties but is able to retain each individual diamond grain for much longer. Combining this with the new DeBeers grit, this blade is a complete success.
